CELTA Qualified Teacher - Grade A

CELTA Qualified Teacher - Grade A

We're very happy to say that we have very recently been awarded a Grade A after completing a very intense and intensive CELTA course at NILE; the Norwich Institute for Language Education. A Grade A is awarded to candidates whose performance in the written assignments meets the specified criteria and who have demonstrated in their teaching practice a level of ability and achievement and a level of awareness significantly higher than that required to meet pass-level criteria in relation to:

• planning for effective teaching;
• teaching skills and professionalism.

It was an exhausting, challenging and highly demanding month, but also incredibly interesting and ultimately worth it. We had the chance to meet a bunch of talented young people from different parts of the world, with whom we shared all the stress and frustration, but also many wonderful experiences and stimulating ideas. The topics covered by the syllabus were very enlightening and, sometimes, thought-provoking, but feedback from tutors and peers, together with interaction with the other trainee teachers, be they native and non-native English speakers, with and without teaching experience, was definitely the highlight of the month. We're already looking forward to going back next year for a new course!

By the way, Norwich is a beautiful city, with great shops, pubs, restaurants, coffee houses and lots of things to do and see. Besides, the locals are very friendly. All the more reasons to go back sooner rather than later.
